When deciding if an at home injury is work related, one of the important questions is “did the worker choose to work at home or did the employer require the worker to work at home?”
It is important for the “at home worker” to have a designated area in the home where work is done. This can be a den, bedroom or basement but the area should be dedicated as a workspace. This area should primarily be used for work and not family activities.
In Washington there have been approximately 6,697 Covid-19 claims filed with L&I. It is too early to know if the workers will be granted L&I benefits.
Please file a claim if you work at home and contract the Covid -9 virus.
