Left-Hand Turn Motorcycle Accidents
According to data from the U.S. Department of Transportation, 53% of cross-path crashes involve left turns, while only 6% involve right turns.
Situations where Left Hand Turn Accidents Happen:
- Drivers pull out of a driveway or street, without taking time to look
- Riders pass a vehicle, blocking the motorcycle from the driver's view
- Drivers overtake the motorcycle, cutting left to make a sudden turn and sideswiping the biker
- A rider travels straight through a green or yellow light while turning driver speeds to beat the light.

As riders, we all know how this goes. We have a green light and a driver on a cell phone or reaching for something doesn't yield the right of way. The worst part of this is after many years of riding experience we know there is nothing we can do. Sure, we'll hit the brakes and try to scrub off speed, maybe lay the bike down, or swerve to avoid a collision. The truth is some of us have no time to do anything. This is especially true when the driver runs into the left side of our bikes. Sometimes the driver runs us over and we are under the vehicle. Sometimes we are thrown 50 feet in the air and start rolling down the street. No matter how it goes, it is always bad. As we know, some of us will never be able to ride again.
Why Hire Me?
Many motorcycle attorneys believe the motorcycle accident is our fault. Motorcycles are dangerous and we never should have been on one. Of course, we got hurt, we never should have been on a motorcycle in the first place. The lawyer may not even like motorcyclists. We make too much noise. We go too fast. We are difficult to see and we have no business being on the road. This is the lawyer you may hire if he/she doesn't ride. You have no idea how a non-riding attorney feels about you and your case. It is safer to hire a lawyer who rides because you know he/she is one of you. Don't just hire an attorney. Hire an attorney who rides and understands you. Our one-hour consultation is free! No cost to you!
This happened to me. In my case, I had the right-of-way and the driver to my left never even slowed down for his stop sign. I see him out of my left eye and it was too late. Fortunately, this happened in a residential neighborhood and I was going 25 miles per hour. Hitting the pavement at 25 miles per hour hurts. The next day I had bruises from the left ankle to my left shoulder. My ribs hurt and it was hard to breathe.
